At Temple Adat Elohim, we believe that engaging children in Jewish tradition and culture is important. We offer two Shabbat services, led by Rabbi Diamond and Cantor Shukiar, appropriate for young children. These services are filled with singing, dancing, blessings, and more.
Tot Shabbat Preschool Service
Every Friday from 9:30-10:00 a.m.
Schedule may change during vacations and holidays.
Every Friday morning during Preschool hours, the teachers bring the children into the Sanctuary for a very lively and fun Tot Shabbat Service with our “Silly Cantor” and Rabbi. They sing songs, dance, and say the Shabbat prayers. Each class chooses a “Shabbat Star” who is brought onto the bimah to say kiddush over the apple juice. It is a wonderful experience for the children as well as parents, grandparents, friends, and relatives who wish to join!
In response to limiting large gatherings, Tot Shabbat is taking place on Facebook Live every other week at 9:30 a.m. The preschool classes view the service live in their classrooms. Please check the Temple Adat Elohim calendar to find the Tot Shabbat schedule. View the most recent Tot Shabbat Live Service here!
Tots ‘n Torah Shabbat Service
Second Friday of the Month at 6:15 p.m.
This Shabbat service is designed for infants through first grade children and their families. Our littlest ones and their parents experience a short, age appropriate service that includes singing and dancing. This is the perfect way for young children to get acquainted with Jewish traditions! There is a cookie oneg following the service in which children have an opportunity to play together on the preschool playground while parents get to know each other.
