Preschool & Transitional Kinder

“After my experience with TAE ECC, I owe the temple everything I can give. My little boy had the most formative experience there and I am forever grateful. Now that he is attending religious school the gratitude continues. I hope he stays in the community forever and sends his kids there one day. Such a charmed experience. He is such a solid kid who is kind and lives the values that every parent would want from their child. This comes from TAE. This is his family and that is priceless.” – Lauren P.

Our Mission and Philosophy
TAE’s Preschool is developmental and grounded in Jewish values. We respect the individuality of each child and seek to instill love and pride in being Jewish.

Preschool is a safe place for children to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills. Children develop in many ways: physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. We believe that teachers play a vital role in supporting these areas through play-based activities that encourage exploration, complex play/thinking, and asking questions. We believe that implementing a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum, that is grounded in Jewish values will help children develop foundations for their learning as life long learners.

Our Early Care program provides a fun, safe environment for your child to begin the day. Our unique Stay & Play program provides opportunities for your child to have fun and relax while engaging in a variety of activities. Our Stay & Play program includes naptime (for children who still nap), outside playtime, and a variety of indoor activities. Both programs are taught by our experienced teachers and are available for families who need or would like to extend their child’s school day.

Toddler and Preschool Program
The preschool program begins with walkers, ages 18 months and up. Our curriculum focuses on play and child-led instruction. In the beginning of each year our teachers take the time to get to know their students and their interests. The teachers will implement activities that their students are interested in.

Transitional Kindergarten Program
Students in the TAE Transitional Kindergarten class are being given “the gift of the extra year”. The students work on critical thinking, self regulation, independence, and receive individualized learning experiences.

Holidays
Our teachers utilize play-based centers based on themes and holidays (secular and Jewish). We value and respect each child’s cultural background and family’s belief. To help children and families feel connected to the school, our teachers integrate various family traditions into the classroom. Families are always welcome to participate in all holiday celebrations. Several times a year we plan special holiday events and invite our families to join. Our music and movement teacher supports the holiday learning through music and movement.

Our Teachers
We have very experienced and knowledgeable teachers who are focus on their student’s social emotional development while teaching age and developmentally appropriate curriculum through play-based instruction. Play-based instruction provides students opportunities to learn in a stress free, fun way. The teachers also provide lots of opportunities to develop skills across all four domains:  cognitive, physical, social, and emotional.

Classroom Management
Our teachers implement positive discipline strategies in the classroom. We believe that positive discipline helps create harmonious classrooms so children can feel safe. When children feel safe, they are able to focus on tasks which leads to learning.

Nut Policy
In order to keep all our children safe, are a NUT FREE school. For special events such as bake sales or birthdays, parents can select from an approved list of snacks. Click here to review the approved, nut free, list. These approved items are subject to change.
