Presented by Lee Rubinstein via Zoom

Laws that told you what you could or could not wear? High heels for men? Hair so high it became a fire hazard? How would you like to wear a dress that was so wide you could barely get through a doorway?

Featuring objects from the Getty collection, you will learn some of the bizarre items of clothing, hairstyles and make up that were part of everyday lives of the men and women who lived before the days of yoga pants and scrunchies!
Lee Rubinstein is a gallery docent at the Getty Center where she leads tours for students.

During the pandemic, she created a set of virtual tours for docents around the globe and has given tours to museums all over the United States and Australia, Canada and Israel. She also runs an all-volunteer in-class art program for a Title I school. Finally, she is the proud older sister of Cory Jakl!
