Camryn is an accomplished youth engagement leader who brings a wealth of experience, innovation, and a passion for working and connecting with youth.
With a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Oregon, and over a decade in sales and marketing throughout the music and entertainment industries, a volunteering stint with BBYO inspired Camryn to change careers solely focusing on youth engagement, education, and programming.
Since 2010, Camryn has led several youth-based programs, specializing in camp, informal and experiential education, Judaic studies, and teen leadership. From 2016-2024, Camryn worked as the Director of Youth Engagement at Valley Beth Shalom, building, leading, writing, creating, and managing engaging events and programs for grades K-12.
In 2021, Camryn launched Camp ViBeS (VBS: Intentional Experiences), a mobile teen camp highlighting Jewish values that foster an environment of critical reflection through outdoor adventures, volunteering at diverse, local nonprofit organizations, and building life affirming social emotional skills through challenging and creative activities. The camp grew a loyal following of over 150 campers each summer and received a grant from the Jewish Federation to add more locations throughout LA. From 2024-2025, Camryn served as the Director of Service Learning at Milken Community School, overseeing all community service programming for grades 6-12.
Camryn is also a certified Youth Development Coach from CTI and is a Graduate of the Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning. In her spare time, Camryn enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew, hiking LA’s best trails, and trying all sorts of exercise classes, singing karaoke (and winning competitions), and taming her wild furry beast (pup) better known as Shuggie (Meshugenah) Kruger.
