Before joining the TAE congregation and music family as our Choir Director in 2012, Stephanie Streja served as the Choir Director of Congregation Shir Ha’ma-alot in Irvine and Artistic Director of the San Clemente Choral Society among many other positions including 12+ years as Cantor-in-Residence and Director of Children’s Education for the Wood River Jewish Community in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Stephanie is in constant demand to provide music direction to both religious and educational arts organizations and is actively sought out as a worship leader, private tutor and officiant for Jewish life cycle events. Originally from Chicago, she received her Bachelor of Music degrees in Voice & Opera and Music Education from Northwestern University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Conducting from UC Irvine. She has served as the Voice Department Head for the Sun Valley Music Festival summer programs since 2006 where she annually conducts and teaches.
Stephanie and her three beautiful daughters (each brought up through ECC and currently engaged in Religious School) are active members of TAE and grateful for all of the friendships made and support they’ve received over the years.
