SHABBAT SHIRA: Tell Me a Story, Sing Me a Song
Friday, February 10, 7:00 p.m.

Don’t miss our beautiful d’var Torah and Shabbat Shira celebration featuring invited guest Cantor Evan Kent, Cantor David Shukiar, the TAE Chorale, and Band of Milk and Honey. Cantor Evan Kent, former Cantor at Temple Isaiah (https://www.evankent.com), will share with us the power and vitality of storytelling and how we can assure these important stories remain part of our heritage. This will be an unforgettable Shabbat service filled with song, stories, and community.

TORAH STUDY with Rabbi Diamond and Cantor Evan Kent
Saturday, February 11, 8:30 a.m.

As part of our Saturday morning Torah study, Cantor Kent will share insights from our parasha using the understandings of the storyteller. Examine how the legends of our people, both ancient and modern, inform and enlighten our perspective.

SHARDS: PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER
Saturday, February 11, 7:00 p.m.

This evening will begin with a havdallah with the TAE Chorale and Band of Milk and Honey at 7:00 p.m. and end with refreshments.

Cantor Evan Kent will present his one-man show, “Shards: Putting the Pieces Together.” Cantor Kent will take us on a poignant, often humorous journey that spans continents, decades, and the generations through story and song (and a few puppets).

Cantor Kent will share stories of his grandparents’ immigration to the United States at the beginning of the 20th century interwoven with his own tales of his Aliyah (immigration to Israel) just a few years ago. Ultimately “Shards ” is the story of finding home, finding homeland, and along the way learning a bit more about yourself.

THIS IS A FREE EVENT, OPEN TO ALL. RSVP IS REQUIRED.

CHAD GAD YAH: THE STORY OF THE GOAT
Sunday, February 12, 9:30 a.m.
Sunday Morning Speaker Series: In-person or virtual

Enjoy a light bagel and lox breakfast with us! This workshop will examine how “The Story of the Goat,” a historical folktale, is retold through the generations. Just as this legend is told again and again, how can we best transmit our own family stories and tales to future generations? How can we hold onto and preserve our own life-stories? How do we make our precious stories relevant for our children and our grandchildren?

This speaker series is sponsored by our TAE Brotherhood and open to our ENTIRE community.

If you plan to attend this event in-person, please RSVP to Brotherhood President Bob Salfi at  rsalfi@alumni.stevens-tech.edu or to Herb Shukiar at herb@rand.org so we know how much food to provide.
