Religious School in 2020

June 18, 2020

Dear Parents,

It was wonderful to see the strength of the TAE Religious School community shine through the last few months of the 2019/2020 school year. We are proud of our students, who showed resilience in adapting to new ways of learning. We are thankful to our teachers, who worked tirelessly to continue engaging and inspiring our students. And we are awed by you, our parents, who have partnered with us to educate your children in a scenario none of us could have imagined. We know that you all have numerous questions regarding the upcoming school year, and in this message, we hope to create some clarity of how we will move forward.

Based upon recommendations from Ventura County CDC and local school districts, we will begin our school year virtually.  The feedback from our surveys and a parent think tank, is guiding us in reimagining our K – 12th grade curriculum. Our grade level themes will focus on interesting and challenging problems that our students will work to solve using Jewish knowledge and skills. This model of learning will be more interesting, more engaging, more collaborative, more creative, and more applicable in our children’s lives.

We want your input:

We are continuing to create protypes of our new curriculum all summer long. If you would like to view our progress and give feedback in our ongoing think tank, click here.

We are investing in reimaging our educational programs because our children are worth it, and they deserve it. We are confident that these new learning experiences will be even better than last year and will create a new standard for Jewish religious school education.

We are grateful to the Irene G. Stern Fund for subsidizing these curricular innovations.  We are also pleased to announce that our Religious School fees will NOT increase even as we transform our educational program.

This is going to be an amazing year and we are excited that your children will be a part of it. Log in to your temple account here and register today.

As always, I am here for you, please contact me with any questions that you may have. Take care,

Marcy Goldberg,
Director of Education
