“Bachutz” – Outdoor Education

Exploring the Outdoors

Bachutz means “outside” in Hebrew—and at Camp T.A.E., it represents our commitment to getting teens out into nature and discovering the beauty of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Weekly Adventures on the Trails
Each week, campers set out on hikes to scenic, and often lesser-known, local trails. These outdoor adventures encourage them to unplug, move their bodies, and take in the world around them—whether they’re winding through canyons, reaching mountaintop views, or simply enjoying fresh air with friends.

More Than Just a Hike
Bachutz is about more than physical challenge—it’s designed to build confidence, spark curiosity, and foster mindfulness. These outdoor experiences help teens grow personally while deepening their connection to the environment and to each other.
