Congratulations to Joi Burns on Receiving BJE’s Early Childhood Award!
Temple Adat Elohim ECC’s own Joi Burns (Ms. Joi Joi) has been honored with the Simha and Sara Lainer Distinguished Educator Award, which recognizes outstanding early childhood educators in BJE-affiliated schools. Joi has been dedicated to early childhood education since 1991 and joined TAE in 2000, where she has nurtured our youngest learners and their families through the Baby & Me program and toddler classrooms.
We invite our community to celebrate Joi at a special award presentation during M.O.M. Day Shabbat on May 9, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the Sanctuary. A representative from BJE will present the award, and we hope you’ll join us in honoring incredible contributions.
About Joi Burns

Beyond the classroom, Joi has a deep love for animals and enjoys combining her creativity and artistic talents with her passion for working with young children. She brings joy to local events and parties through glitter tattoo art and face painting.
Simha and Sara Lainer Distinguished Educator Awards
The Lainer family is renowned for its philanthropic contributions to Jewish education and learning. To highlight the vital role educators play in shaping Jewish traditions and values, they established the Distinguished Educator Awards for early childhood educators. Each year, three exemplary educators from BJE-affiliated early childhood centers—who have been teaching for at least seven years—are selected to receive a $2,500 cash award in recognition of their dedication and impact.
Congratulations, Joi! 🎉
