Shirei Elohim, our Junior Choir

Shirei Elohim, our Junior Choir

If you are a child in our religious school (we recommend in the second grade or older, but gladly welcome singers as young as kindergarten if they can sit through an hour long service) and love to sing, then Shirei Elohim is the group for you! As a part of Shirei Elohim you will:

  • Sing at monthly Family Shabbat Celebrations (on the 3rd Friday of the month)
  • Sing at local retirement communities for Mitzvah Day, Chanukah and Passover
  • Participate in our Community Chanukah Candle Lighting Celebrations at TAE and in the community
  • Sing with the TAE Chorale, the Band of Milk and Honey and the TAE Symphony Orchestra
  • Sing at Shabbat Shira, the Shabbat of Song
  • Make new friends
  • Learn prayers and other Jewish music

If you or your parents have any questions or you would like to sign up for Shirei Elohim, contact Cantor David at Temple (805) 497-7101 or via email (dshukiar@adatelohim.com). We rehearse certain Sunday’s after Religious School from 11:30 am to noon. We look forward to welcoming you to our Shirei Elohim family!!! Music enables us to experience holy moments in a much deeper way. Temple Adat Elohim has an expansive and unique music program, under the leadership of award-winning composer and arranger Cantor David Shukiar. With music composed and arranged specifically for our various choirs and ensembles that you will not hear anywhere else, our music spans the generations and genres, allowing us to feel the depths of our liturgy and pray in our own communal voice.
