WELCOME
Dear TAE Families,
We hope you’re having a wonderful, safe, and healthy summer! We look forward to sharing the High Holy Days with you, from Selichot through Simchat Torah.
This is a time to reflect on beginnings and endings, connect with others, and commit to a meaningful and joyful year. We will pray for ourselves and the broader world, seek strength to support those in need, and recommit to doing better.
Our theme, “Falling Apart – Coming Together,” invites us to explore the intricate dance of our world, where brokenness and healing coexist.
Whether you join us in person or virtually, you are a valued member of our community. Rabbi Diamond, Cantor Shukiar, and our team have prepared meaningful High Holy Days experiences for everyone. Most services will be held in our Sanctuary, with many available online.
L’Shanah Tovah!

SERVICE DESCRIPTIONS
- Selichot Program: In a world divided, healing begins with listening. We invite you to explore the power of compassionate listening by embarking on a journey toward understanding. By setting aside debate and truly hearing the stories of others, we will practice compassionate listening, a key step toward reconciliation and forgiveness. Join us for a Selichot service where we will apply this healing skill, deepening our connection with one another and ourselves.
- Healing Service: Immediately after the Selichot program, Rabbi Diamond and Cantor Shukiar will lead a Havdalah ceremony and healing service. Torah mantles will be changed to white in preparation for the High Holy Days. Rabbi Diamond and Cantor Shukiar will be wearing their white robes for the first time this year. Selichot will take place in-person only. Tickets are not required to attend.
- Erev Rosh Hashanah: Join us after your Erev Rosh Hashanah meal for this joyful service filled with melodies from our Band of Milk and Honey and TAE Chorale. This service will take place in our Sanctuary and online.
- Kol Nidre, Erev Yom Kippur: This service is filled with melodies from our Band of Milk and Honey, TAE Chorale, and special guest cellist, Dave Speltz. This service will take place in our Sanctuary and online.
- Traditional Services: Our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur traditional services are filled with melodies from our Band of Milk and Honey and TAE Chorale. The services are about two hours long and will take place in our Sanctuary and online.
- Family Services: Our family services are perfect for families with elementary school-age children. These services are about an hour and a half and will take place in our Sanctuary and online.
- Services for Young Children: Our services for young children are perfect for families with preschool-age children. These services are approximately 30 minutes and children can move their wiggly bodies throughout! Please review our schedule of events for the service times.
- Tashlich: Join us as we gather at a body of water and recite Tashlich prayers consisting of selected chapters of Tehillim (Psalms), to symbolize our wish to cast off our sins and to be forgiven by God. Tickets are NOT required to attend this service.
- Stories of Repentance & Forgiveness: Is there an art to forgiveness? These stories reveal the secrets to forgiving…but do we ever forget? Find out in this moving and thought-provoking show that deals with sibling rivalry, betrayal, ex-husbands, a German’s plea for forgiveness and one woman’s ability to forgive herself after a horrible accident that takes a man’s life. All this, and more, will bring you to tears and laughter as well. Tried and true powerhouse of a show! Don’t miss this engaging event taking place on Saturday, October 12, at 3:30 PM, at the temple.
- T-Coil Equipped Hearing Aids/Headsets: We have a loop system compatible with T-coil equipped hearing aids. We also have a limited number of headsets to lend to worshippers in need of amplification.

ANNUAL CAMPAIGN
Temple Adat Elohim’s partnership dues cover less than half of our operating expenses, leaving a financial gap. Your generosity enables us to continue offering a wide range of programs that benefit our community.
Your tax-deductible donations directly help close this gap, providing the essential funding needed to sustain Temple Adat Elohim.
Every gift you make is meaningful and ensures that we continue to support programs and imlement initiatives that positively impact our congregants and the broader community.
We are deeply grateful for your ongoing commitment and dedication to Temple Adat Elohim.
ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE
While many of us will voluntarily fast on Yom Kippur, too many in our local community face involuntary fasts because they lack sufficient money for food. You can make a difference!
Your donations will go to the Conejo Valley Manna Food Bank, a local food pantry that provides assistance to seniors and others experiencing temporary setbacks and emergencies. Manna accepts both food and monetary donations.
