Gallant-Schiff Infant Center

Welcome to Temple Adat Elohim Gallant-Schiff Infant Center!
A center that is grounded in Jewish values such as kindness, compassion, inclusiveness, and respect.

Our Mission
The Gallant-Schiff Infant Center offers a warm, nurturing environment focused on meeting the needs of each individual child.

Infant Center Hours
The Infant Care Center is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Our Teachers
We pride ourselves on our low child to teacher ratio and our attention to detail. Our teachers provide individualized attention to each child and follow the routines that parents implement at home. We want the children and their families to think of us as an extention of their home, so we follow individual requests made by the parents. Our open door policy allows parents to visit whenever they want.

Teacher Qualifications:

  • Infant and toddler education
  • Continued professional development classes focused on early childhood
  • First Aid and CPR training
  • Fingerprint clearance and background checks
  • Minimum 4 years experience working with children

Our Curriculum
We believe that children learn best through a play based curriculum. Our teachers follow a loosely structured routine that includes songs, stories, music, sensory activities, art, and more. Jewish values are modeled on a daily basis. Our children are exposed to the Jewish holidays and celebrate Shabbat on Fridays. Some of the children join the Early Childhood Center’s morning Tot Shabbat service and taste challah each week. On Wednesdays, our Music and Movement teacher visits the class and plays fun music on her guitar while encouraging the children to move around.

Parent Communication
Our parents and guardians are essential to our program. It is important for parents to work with teachers to create the most optimal experiences for their children. Our teachers and director conduct detailed intake interviews with parents/guardians to learn about each child before being cared for by us.

We believe that it is important to communicate with our parents/guardians often. We want parents to feel like they are experiencing their child’s development and milestones, first-hand, even if they are not present. Our teachers regularly send pictures, videos, texts, and emails to share those special moments.

Our License
We are a state licensed to accept children 6 weeks and up. Children who begin in our infant center will move into our Early Childhood Center’s Monkey class as soon as they turn 18 months old and are walking. We accept children of all faiths and beliefs.

We would love to give you a tour of our beautiful center. Space is limited, plan ahead and reserve your infant’s spot. Please call us at 805-497-6920 to schedule an appointment.
