Shoes That Fit

Shoes That Fit

Donate a pair of shoes to a child in need.

Many low income children wear hand me down shoes that do not fit correctly. What a gift it is to be able to provide a child with a new pair of shoes. The TAE chapter of Shoes that Fit was formed in the fall of 2017 with a Mitzvah Day kickoff. Through Shoes That Fit, TAE members can provide a new pair of shoes to a child in need at a designated Oxnard school. Donors are given a child’s name, their shoe size and the type of shoe needed. They then purchase a pair of shoes and drop them off at temple. The shoes are delivered to the child through their school.

We will be providing shoes for children in need who are returning to campus for the first time this school year at Thurgood Marshall K-8 school in Oxnard.  When the children return to campus in mid-April, the school will measure their feet and give us the list of children and their sizes.

Right now, we are asking people to sign up to purchase a pair of shoes.  The child’s name and size will then be provided mid-April and then shoes will be dropped off to TAE in late April or early May.
