Mission Statement: The mission of TAE’s Social Action Committee is to encourage the education of and participation in understanding the local, national and global human needs around us. We seek to develop and provide opportunities for participation in meaningful projects, events and programs that respond to those needs and fulfill the act of Tikkun Olam (healing the world) . We strive to perform mitzvot reflecting the ideals of Reform Judaism and welcome involvement from all temple members.
Active in Community projects throughout their adult lives, Harold and Marcia are excited and committed to help TAE members in the vital work of Tikkun Olam. Connecting people to social action is Marcia’s passion, and she is thrilled to work with her TAE family to accomplish this important work. In addition to volunteering, Marcia works part-time as the bookkeeper for their small business, Nature Watch. In her pre-mom life, Marcia was the VP and Manager of the Southern California Human Resource Center for Bank of America.
Harold thoroughly enjoyed the first 30 years of his professional life in the world of youth development as the owner and director of Camp Kinneret Day Camp, Sunny Skies Day Camp and Sunny Skies Preschool. Harold is now a co-owner and partner running Nature Watch, a provider of nature and science educational materials for educators working with children. The Gordons feel very fortunate to have two great daughters, Becca and Rachel.
