S'lichot Healing Service and Program - Saturday, September 24th, 8:00 - 11 pm - Social Hall
The observation of S'lichot, the traditional prayers recited in the days leading up to Rosh Hashanah, will be held at Temple Adat Elohim.
The entire community is invited.“100 Voices: would be glorious as a concert film but it is immeasurably more. The documentary follows 72 U.S. cantors who were on a mission to help the revival of Jewish culture in their ancestral land of Poland. A land in which Jews were all but eradicated in the Holocaust. The film culminates with an emotional memorial at the gates of Auschwitz. Following the screening we will have a Q & A with the film’s Musical Director, Charlie Fox, the film’s Producer, Matthew Asner, and our own Rabbi Ted Riter and Cantor David Shukiar.
The evening will include Havdallah, Film Screening & Discussion, Oneg Reception and S’lichot Healing Service.
“Tashlich” service is the symbolic casting of sins into the water and it will be held on Thursday afternoon, September 29th at 4:30 p.m. at Oak Canyon Community Park. This event is open to the community.
The TAE community invites you to join us, along with Jewish communities around the globe, in this generations old ritual where we gather as a community on the First Day of Rosh Hashanah at bodies of water and recite the Tashlich Prayer, which consists of certain chapters of Tehillim (Psalms) and the verses shown above, to symbolize our wish to get rid of our sins, and to be forgiven by God.
We will meet at the lower open deck by the duck pond.
To respect the preservation of the pond and the ducks no bread will be allowed however duck food will be provided to participants.
