Artwork should focus on the following Shabbat service themes:
1) First Shabbat (a Shabbat experience for our youngest temple members);
2) The Choir and The Band of Milk & Honey;
3) Family Shabbat;
4) Shabbat Under the Stars; and
5) a Regular Shabbat Service
Artwork may be handmade or digital. Artists may submit more than one design. However, each design should only focus on one service. Send all submissions to Rabbi Riter by June 15th.

Mezuzah Day “And you shall inscribe them on the door posts of your house”
Postponed - New Date To Be Announced

Whether for a new mezuzah or existing one… Our clergy will come to your home and install and bless your mezuzah. You can then follow along to the next home until we culminate in a “bring-your-own” picnic at Thousand Oaks Center Park.

The mezuzah is actually the parchment (not the pretty case!) called a “klaf”. Two passages from the Torah are written on the klaf. One is the Shema. A mezuzah is there to remind us of our relationship to God. It is not an orthodox, conservative, or reform thing, it is an integral part of our Jewish identity.

You can buy a mezuzah from the sisterhood giftshop or from other sources. We will do the rest. The price of this mitzvah is a donation to our local food bank which we will accept when the installation is made.

Please RSVP to Mezuzah Day and Picnic or call Robin Hirsh at (818) 822-7091 or Ken Bock at 805-446-4612 if you have any questions.
