Andrea Leonard - Lainer Distinguished Educator Award Winner Temple Teachers Earn Recognition

Three childhood teachers from Temple Adat Elohim Early Childhood Center in Thousand Oaks received distinguished educator awards on Jan. 10 before an audience of 300 of their colleagues from more than 40 Jewish preschools in the greater Los Angeles area.

ECC/Mishpaha Room 4/ECC Teacher Resource Room Dedication

Past presidents of ECC parent association, Mishapaha, Christy Rosen, Eva Larson, Denise Helfstein and Jackie Zide helped fundraise to make this project possible over these past 3 years. ECC Teacher Bobbie Match Honored ECC Teacher Bobbie Match Honored
March 8, 2010

We are proud to announce that ECC teacher Mrs. Bobbie Match, is this year’s recipient of the BJE’s Hana Amir Scholarship Award. This distinguished award is given to only one teacher in the entire Los Angeles area to be applied towards continuing education in Jewish early childhood education. Mrs. Match also received the Lainer Award for Teacher of Excellence in Jewish early childhood education in 2005.

Early Childhood Education Center (EEC) Receives the Quality Childcare Award
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

Temple Adat Elohim’s Early Childhood Education Center (EEC) was singled out for honors, receiving the Quality Childcare Award by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for TAE’s Early Childhood Education Center’s accreditation and commitment to quality childcare services for families and children in Ventura County. We recently received re-accreditation through the year 2012.

Teacher at Synagogue School Earns Award

Michelle Princenthal, Early Childhood Education teacher at Temple Adat Elohim, received the Lainer Award from the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Los Angeles at the annual Spring Institute in Woodland Hills on Feb. 26. The Lainer Award is given annually to a teacher of excellence in the greater Los Angeles area. Princenthal has been teaching in early childhood education for more than 20 years. She teaches pre-kindergarten and a special kindergarten readiness enrichment series for the temple's ECC preK and transitional kindergarten students. According to the temple, Princenthal integrates Jewish concepts into art, music, science, math, and language arts. She helps promote her students' social and emotional growth, and she takes classes to remain current on early childhood research, child development and educational ideas.
