That report was for the Northeast! Our weather was a little cool to start, but after the few holes, the "ole Sol" warmed us up and it was very pleasant. A bit of a breeze from the North taht made the play on the back 9 interesting. Real tough conditions!

We were able to welcome back Bernie Entin and Alan Crane, after a long period away from golfing. Alan Crane had two pars! In total we had three groups that teed off today. Our lowest score was posted by Les Lovatt with a really terrific 75 (low score on the front - 40, a 35 on the backside, with 8 pars and 1 birdie!) The 41st golf group outing was held on Monday, December 27th at Westlake Golf Course. According to Uncle Weatherbee's report: the weather started clear but a little on the cool side as we teed off, but, by the 5th hole we were able to strart shedding our clothes, layer by layer, till we ended up the round in short sleeves. So what if there was a blizzard on the east coast. We certainly have it good here!

We had two groups that teed off today. Due to the rain last week, there were some areas with standing water, but our group deftly avoided hitting into these places. We only had one group that teed off today, consisting of Bob (the Maven) Grossmann, Herb (the Squire) Jacobowitz, Neal (the Professor) Federman, and Ron (the Southpaw) Meyers. Monday, October 4, 2010

The thirty fourth T.A.E. Golf Group outing was successfully held at Westlake Golf Course with 2 groups playing. According to Uncle Weatherbee’s report: a persistent mist hovered over the course, similar to playing in Scotland. Since the front 9 was being punched today, we were lucky that we were able to play the back side twice. Let’s hope that there is a clear up for the next time.

Some of the Group’s highlights this week were: Hal Bloom had the low score of 80 (comprised of 6 pars, including a 41 on the front side & a 39 on the back – nice going!), Bob Grossmann had an 84 (with 8 pars, 6 in a row, and a 39 also on the back 9); Larry Levine had an 87 (with 4 pars), Bernie Entin had a 92 (with 2 pars), and Ron Meyers had a 93 (with 3 pars). I guess that this is the “long and the short” of this tale. Sponge Bob made another appearance under the deft play of Neal Federman. As usual, we had a good time on the course and since there were very few players out today, we were able to complete our round in 3 ˝ hours.

Monday, August 30th

Thanks to Sharleen Bergman for keeping the notes of our activities.

Monday, May 17th

According to Uncle Weatherbee's report: our day started out overcast and remained that way throughout the whole round. It was probably the "June Gloom" a little earlier that expected, or a "cut-off low" pressure gradient that lost its way. Who knows! Strange things occur while we "count the Omer" from Passover to Shavuot, and this probably added to the pale of the day.

Some of the Group's highlights this week were - Larry Levine had the low round of the day with an 80; 42 on the front and a 38 on the back, with 1 birdie and 6 pars - a wonderful score. - Bob Grossmann had an 86 with 4 pars, including a 39 on the backside. -Joel Sandleman had a 91 with a birdie on the 9th hole and 1 par. - Bernie Entin scored a 92, which is one over his age. - Herb Jacobowitz had a 93 with 2 pars, as well as hitting a goose - "no harm, no fowl!" - Both Bernie Entin and Sharleen Bergman were consistent with their scoring on both the front and the back sides.

Once again, everyone that participated enjoyed a really great time!

Monday, May 3rd

According to Uncle Weatherbee's report: it was a truly gorgeous day to play, with pleasant breezes and not a cloud in the sky. Uncle Weatherbee's forecast was right on the money once again.

Some of the Group's highlights this week were - Art Schneider had the low round of the day with a 79: two birdies & four pars - a terrific score!; Bob Grossmann had an 81 with six pars; Les Lovatt had an 83 with five pars; Bernie Entin scored an 86 with three pars; Allan Sobel had an 87 with three pars.

We had the honor of having "Sponge Bob" participating once again, joining us under the tutelage of Neil Federman. Both Sharleen Bergman and Neal Federman also scored pars. The course was in rough shape, with some fine sand imported in from Malibu for our surfing pleasure, and occasional obstructions in the fairways, compliments of the geese, ducks and coots. Once again, everyone who participated enjoyed a really great time!
