At TAE we have an impressive array of both short and long term classes for adults in our community. We encourage you to find at least one class that will facilitate your personal growth this new year.
Discovering Judaism
Thursday evenings, August 25, 2016 – December 15, 2016 (15 sessions) 7:00 – 9:00pm

For some things in life, it is never too late. Perhaps, you never had the opportunity to have a Jewish Education; you weren’t quite ready to appreciate that education or have forgotten all that you once knew. Perhaps, you would like to learn more about your partner’s religion; would like to be able to answer your child’s Religious School questions or are seeking to convert to Judaism. Have you always wanted to have a greater understanding of the rich heritage of Judaism? Learn more about the holidays and events in the Jewish life cycle? Explore God, prayer and our history?

Discovering Judaism offers you a time and space to broaden your Jewish awareness. Join Rabbi Straus and Mel Young, our Rabbinic Intern, for this wonderful opportunity; now is the time!

Temple Adat Elohim Members – cost of books/ Non Members 150.00 plus the cost of books. Register today by calling Marcy Goldberg, Director of Education at 805-497-0361 or email Marcy at Pamela Rooks, to learn more about this program.

Melton invites you to discover a world-class curriculum created by scholars at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Our outstanding faculty helps students gain a profound understanding of what it means to be Jewish, as we explore the texts of our tradition, ancient and contemporary. Our interactive, pluralistic classes are designed for adults at all levels of knowledge and background.

There is no homework, no tests, and no prep. You will explore, reflect, question, debate, and (re)discover your Jewish self in a well-rounded and comprehensive course of study in a user-friendly format. You can anticipate spirited dialogue and meaningful study.

New CORE classes offered in the community begin each September. Visit for more information or to register for classes online. Your questions are welcome! Contact our local Melton Director Pamela Rooks, to learn more about our stimulating classes for adults.
