Welcome To Chesed
SIGN UPChesed works to teach children about the wonderful world of helping others through participation in five activities throughout the religious school year. Activities include working with Many Mansions, taking part in Mitzvah Day and the Walk to End Genocide.
What Is The Commitment?
Chesed activities are scheduled only once a month, usually on Sundays after religious school. We often meet with sack lunches or order a pizza, then jump into our event. Not every family can make every event, so we are very flexible! Some events require advance registration and fill up quickly.
What Is The Goal?
If you’ve ever heard yourself say, “My kids don’t realize how lucky they are,” join Chesed. By exposing your children to a wide range of social
action opportunities, you teach them – not through guilt or fear but through positive action – to feel empowered to help those in need
Is There A Cost?
We ask for a nominal $25 contribution per family to help pay for supplies for our activities.
What Are The Activities?
Chesed events cover many different areas of need, from helping the homeless to socializing with the elderly to beautifying the environment. Chesed is parent-run and inspired, so if you have any ideas, feel free to bring them up!
