Adult Children of WWII-Era Parents For Research Study On Eating Behaviors And Attitudes - Volunteers Needed

Individuals whose parents previously lived in Europe and escaped the Holocaust as well as individuals whose parents survived the Holocaust are encouraged to participate.
A research study is being conducted by Lee Doric Henry
M.Ed., ATR, a doctoral student at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL as a requirement for her doctoral degree. Participants will complete an anonymous online survey composed of brief parental demographics, a self and family eating behaviors survey, and an optional comment section.
The survey will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete. If individuals would like to participate, but do not have access to a computer, they will be mailed copies of the survey. After completion, participants may access the results online or have the results mailed to them. The study is expected to contribute to the body of knowledge, which indicates risk for eating disorders in descendants of survivors of Holocaust-like situations.
Dr. Roslyn Schindler, a faculty member at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, will conduct the pilot study. Dr. Schindler teaches Holocaust Studies and recently published the memoir of her mother Golda, who was a Holocaust survivor.
