TAE offers many volunteer opportunities. The rewards of involvement through volunteering speak for themselves. Meeting people who will become friends and often extended family as well as a feeling of personal gratification are just two of the many benefits. Thus, it is beneficial to both you and TAE to volunteer. One final reason to volunteer is that TAE cannot be the best it can be without YOU!
Do you want to speak to someone about a volunteer opportunity? This is not an inclusive list. E-mail the committee chairs.
Do you have any ideas about our religious services and observance that you would like to share with our clergy? All aspects of the temple’s religious life are discussed, planned, and coordinated in conjunction with the Rabbis and Cantor. The goal is to effectively represent a cross-section of the TAE community and ensure the congregation’s spiritual needs are met.
Supporting and sustaining our temple financially is the goal of this committee. Our endowment and estate planning programs help insure the long-term survival of TAE. Other fundraisers add needed dollars to the budget, as well as contribute to the upkeep of our property. Creative ideas and people power are essential to coordinating and maintaining these programs.
Friday Night Greeter
Each Friday night several people with warm smiles and a sincere "Shabbat Shalom" greet guests and members entering our sanctuary. What better or an easier way to get to know the congregants of our temple? This could be you! Use the Volunteer Form to let us know you want to be part of this Shabbat Mitzvah!
As a participant on the TAE Membership Committee, your time, talent and ideas go a long way. You can be part of a working committee that engages new and existing members of TAE to be part of our family, serve as an ambassador to new members, or help out at a Membership event. No matter how you help, you'll make a big difference as you work with others to create a feeling of connectedness to our temple community and to even connect yourself and meet some great people! Do something good and join us on the Membership Committee.
The Havurah Committee needs you! The goal of this committee is to enable every family at TAE to share and experience life cycle events and Jewish traditions while making new friendships. Our committee matches people with similar interests to help start new Havurot and maintains contact with existing groups.
The Caring Community is comprised of members who want to fulfill the mitzvah of Bikur Cholim - whether its visiting the sick, delivering a meal, leading a shiva minyan or helping to commemorate the first yahrzeit of a loved one by providing a candle and a prayer. Those are just some examples of how this committee serves the community.
The goal of the Outreach Committee is to welcome interfaith couples and individuals considering conversion into the TAE community by offering information, mentoring, and other forms of support. Past activities have included writing columns in the TAE newsletter (Bazman), creating and distributing pamphlets about holiday rituals, and facilitating interfaith workshops. As a member of this committee, you are free to help create ways to help in this effort.
The Social Action Committee is committed to Tikkun Olam through its many ongoing projects. It is a place to make a difference in our world at a time when people need to come together to help those who are less fortunate.
To fulfill our mission of Tikkun Olam, TAE must be fiscally responsible. Our Finance Committee, which consists of financial professionals with experience in all aspects of financial management, oversees TAE's budget.
